Is it normal for heat-pump air to feel less hot than furnace air?
Often, yes. Heat pumps typically deliver a gentler, lower-temperature supply air than fuel-fired furnaces. A room that is not warming, unusually long run times, or auxiliary heat that never turns off can still signal a problem.
What does emergency heat do?
Emergency heat bypasses normal heat-pump heating and uses the backup heat source. It is intended for specific situations, not routine operation, and it can use substantially more electricity.
Can a dirty filter affect heating?
Yes. Restricted airflow can reduce comfort, increase run time, trigger safeties, and stress the blower or heat components. Use the correct filter size and change interval for the system.
